BioRobotics Laboratory – University of Washington, Seattle, WA
The Raven I was developed at the University of Washington by Applied Dexterity Co-Founders Blake Hannaford and Jacob Rosen and their students. The electronics and software for Raven II were developed at the UW and the lab continues to support the system while researching cutting-edge techniques for Surgeon skill evaluation, haptics in teleoperation and virtual fixtures.
Bionics Lab – University of California Los Angeles
Under the leadership of Jacob Rosen, the Bionics Lab is responsible for the mechanical design of the Raven 2. Jacob and the Bioincs lab recently moved from UC Santa Cruz to UCLA.
